9M-MRD | Malaysia Airlines | Boeing 777-200/ER

Boeing 777-200/ER 9M-MRD was an absolute icon, having been repainted into the "Freedom of Space" livery in 2005. With MAS serving Zurich a few times every week back then, the chances were always high to catch this one on an early morning arrival or a lunchtime departure from & to Kuala Lumpur. It was seen rotating away from Rwy 16 at Zurich on 16 September 2007.

9V-SKA | Singapore Airlines | A380-800

9V-SKA | Singapore Airlines | A380-800

The very first A380 of Singapore Airlines was seen approaching Rwy 09R at London Heathrow in May 2008. Back then, twin runway arrivals were only done during the very early morning hours due to the massive imbalance between arrival and departure movements. In more recent times, Rwy 09R tends to get assigned more often to flights that require less taxi time across the vast fields of Heathrow, namely all users of Terminal 4, SKYTEAM members and users of the southern pier at Terminal 3.
